Wailea Golf Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club
The home course of The Champions Skins Game, the 7,078-yard Wailea Gold Course is the most challenging of Wailea’s trio, with a rugged and masterful design that takes advantage of the terrain’s natural undulations. But four to six tee boxes on every hole also make it a suitable track for virtually every player.
Created by architect Robert Trent Jones II, the Gold was honored by both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest as one of the country’s ten best new resort courses when it opened in 1994. It has been recognized by the Maui Historical Society for its preservation of prehistoric lava rock walls during construction and hailed as one of the world’s best designed courses by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler. Emerald Course at Wailea Golf Club
Designed to be fun for practically every player, the 6,825-yard Wailea Emerald Course was one reason Golf for Women Magazine first granted the Wailea Golf Club a Top Fairways Award for the country’s most women-friendly golf clubs, an honor that Wailea has won seven times.
The Emerald delights players with its carpet-like fairways, colorful foliage, and numerous vistas of the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Haleakala. Relatively few forced carries and kinder fairways are ideal for players who view golf as an enjoyable form of recreation rather than a grueling test of concentration and precision. For players seeking a greater Maui golf challenge, four to six tee boxes on every hole allow them to tailor the course to their skill level. Blue Course at Wailea Golf Club
Meandering across the lower foothills of Mount Haleakala are the pristine fairways of the Wailea Old Blue Course stretching 6,765 yards from its tips, this classic Arthur Jack Snyder beauty has charmed her way into the heart of many Wailea Resort golfers. Enjoy cooling fountains, serene lakes, tropical landscaping and coral sand bunkers, the Old Blue is a true Hawaiian resort course.
The immaculate fairways wind through the resort, offering a picturesque tour of Wailea, with spectacular views of the azure ocean and dramatic volcanic slopes. The graceful design and generous fairways offer a pleasing repast for weekend golfers.
There are many Wailea golf course properties surrounding the Wailea Blue Course for sale including residential homes and vacation condominiums. Nestled between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fairways is the gated luxury subdivision of Wailea Golf Vistas. Surrounded on all three sides by the 4th, 15th and 16th Fairways is the exclusive community of Wailea Golf Estates. Hugging the 17th Fairway of the Old Blue is the prestigious subdivision of Wailea Highlands. Located a little further north is an older Wailea community built and runs along the 13th and 14th Fairways named Wailea Fairway Estates. Wailea's newest single-family development resting just above the 9th Fairway and across from the Wailea Gateway is the Bluffs at Wailea.
There are currently five condominium developments which border the Blue Course Fairways, of these Wailea Fairway Villas is the only complex that does not allow short-term vacation rentals. The Fairway Villas rests on the entire length of the mauka side on the 16th Fairway. Wailea Ekolu Village is located on the northern tip of the 16th Fairway and runs along the 15th Fairway about half the way. Nestled along the 7th Fairway and between the 6th and 8th Fairways is the Grand Champion Villas. Makena Golf Makena North Golf Course
Opened in 1993, the North Course goes out of its way to make golfers feel at one with their natural surroundings. There are no distractions on this course except for the unobstructed views of the blue pacific, neighboring islands and humpback whales breaching during whale season. Natural Hawaiian rock walls are left right where they were found and they play an integral part in the course design. Natural gullies and streambeds are also left intact, along with Makena’s indigenous kiawe trees. The best view of the North Course comes part-way up the mountain on the thirteenth hole, overlooking the clubhouse and the natural rolling terrain that leads right up to the ocean. Makena South Golf Course
Sharing the same spirit that embodies the Makena Resort, the South Course also provides the serenity and tranquility many golfers are looking for. It’s not to say that the course doesn’t provide quite a measure for golfers of every level, but it’s remote setting and well-spaced tee times make the South Course a favorite of many Maui golfers.
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the South Course is a 6,739-yard, par 72 course with natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and capitivating ocean and mountain views. The South Course boasts one of Hawaii’s top driving holes, the par-5 number ten. According to members of the PGA Aloha Section, number ten was selected as one of the top par 5’s in Hawaii. It’s no wonder. Nestled between a view of the Puu Olai cinder cone to the west and the clubhouse with the Ulupalakua Ranch in the background on the east, the tenth hole is a long 502 yards.
Bordering the 15th Fairway is the new gated luxury oceanfront residential community of Black Sand at Makena. Consisting of seven home sites over five acres with unobstructed views of the neighboring islands Molokini and Kahoolawe. Please visit our page for additional information on Makena golf properties for sale in South Maui. Click to view golf course layout or satellite Makena South Course Map.
Kihei Golf Elleair Maui Golf Club
One of Maui's best resort and public golf clubs, the Elleair Maui Golf Club, formally the Silversword, has just recently improved the golf course with new designs on several awkward holes. Just added was a GPS system for quick yardage and faster play through. Golfers enjoy incredible ocean views to the west and volcanic terrain of Mount Haleakala to the east. The course is located in the heart of Kihei close to vacation condominiums, beachfront estates, resorts and Maui beaches.
The 18-hole Maui Elleair course is located in South Maui and features 6,404 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.6 and it has a slope rating of 124 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Bill Newis, the Maui Elleair golf course opened in 1987.
Completly surrounded by the golf resort is the new luxury residential community Hokulani Golf Villas. Still under construction and many units for sale, this unique low-density project of only 152 single-family, detached condominium homes offers privacy and seclusion away from Kihei town. Kapalua Golf The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort
As part of the Kapaula Resort community in West Maui, the Plantation Golf Course spans across rolling pineapple fields, Hawaiian canyons and rocky shorelines. Built in 1991 by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, the course features 95 bunkers, expansive fairways, elevation changes and windy shorelines. The signature hole for the Kapalua Plantation Course is the 18th with its 665-yard downhill, down wind par-5. While its more than challenging, the 18th provides one of the most breathtaking views on the whole island of Maui.
Scattered throughout this expansive Kapalua Resort are the Plantation Estates, a community of single-family luxury homes. Many of these Hawaiian estates run along the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th Fairways of the Plantation Course.
The par 73, 7,411-yard Plantation Course, is the course of the champions, site of the PGA TOUR Mercedes-Benz Championship each January featuring an elite field of previous year's PGA TOUR winners. The field has included golf greats such as Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Justin Leonard, Ernie Els, Davis Love III and many more. The grand scale of the course designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore unfurls across natural geographic formations and pineapple plantation fields that take your breath away. The Village Course at Kapalua Resort
Opened in 1974, Kapalua Resort's second Arnold Palmer design layout, The Village Course, twists, turns, rises and falls through the West Maui foothills. A serene trek through Hawaiian headlands, stands of Cook and Norfolk pines characterize this par 70 6,317-yard course. Rising into the West Maui mountains, the course travels through eucalyptus and Cook pine trees, past a lake and alongside ridges plummeting hundreds of feet into deep green valleys. Click to view satellite Kapalua Village Course Map.
The Bay Course at Kapalua Resort
The forerunner of Kapalua Resort's three championship golf courses, the Bay Course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane. It was completed in 1975 and benefits from its maturity if not the extensive surrounding development. The Bay Course is a 6,600-yard par 72 with gently rolling fairways and generous greens winding through palm trees and hibiscus plants down to the sea. The resort landscape includes ironwoods, coconut palms and Cook pines adding to the rich colorful beauty of a layout that stretches to the coastline.
Not as difficult as the Plantation Course and comparable to the Village Course, the Bay Course is perhaps the most beautiful and a lot of fun to play. There are three short holes on the front with the Fifth, requiring a tee shot across the ocean inlet, being the most picturesque. The Back features three long holes to go with the two on the Front, all of which are reachable in two. The eighteenth is the longest. Along the way are a pleasing variety of Par 4's with the Sixteenth being perhaps the most unique. There a meandering stream splits the fairway into two distinctive halves with each offering its own strategic advantages and disadvantages.
Perched above the 12th and 13th Fairways is the luxury gated residential subdivision of Pineapple Hill Estates. Located just west and hugging the 11th and 17th Fairways is the prestigious subdivision of Pineapple Hill at Kapalua. There are three luxury resort condominium developments which border the Bay Course Fairways, of these Kapalua Ironwoods is the only complex that is direct oceanfront. Kapalua Ironwoods rests between the 4th and 5th Fairways and looks out towards Oneloa Bay. Kapalua Golf Villas is located up Kapalua Drive and below the community Pineapple Hill at Kapalua, overlooking the 10th and 11th Fairways. Surrounded by the 6th, 8th and 9th Fairways are the Villas at Kapalua Ridge. Visit our page for additional information on our Kapalua golf properties for sale in the West Maui Real Estate market. Kaanapali Golf North Course at Kaanapali Golf Resort
The Royal Kaanapali Course opened its lush fairways in 1962 and is one of only two golf courses in all of Hawaii designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The legendary architect took full advantage of the region's scenic natural beauty to create a course that is distinctive, demanding and appealing.
The Tournament course begins at sea level with a par 5 hole extending 550 yards. The course hugs the shoreline before winding its way to the West Maui Mountain foothills. The 449 yard hole plays longer than it looks, hugging the brackish water canal the entire length of the fairway and green.
Kaanapali residential properties fronting the Royal Kaanapali Fairways are some of West Maui's most prestigious luxury estates. Completely surrounded on all sides by the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th Fairways is Royal Kaanapali Estates. Across Kualapa Loop from South Ulukoa Place is Kahua Kai, a low-density subdivision of only twelve home sites bordering the 7th Fairway. Nestled between the 7th, 9th and 10th Fairways is the gated community North Ulukoa Place of Kaanapali Golf Estates.
There are four condominium complexes which share its borders with the North Course at Kaanapali Golf Resort. Located along the 4th and 6th Fairways with direct ocean views across the 5th Fairway is the Maui Eldorado community. Kaanapali Royal is nestled between Honoapiilani Hwy, 16th Fairway and the practice range and overlooks the natrual water hazards around the 1st, 17th and 18th Fairways. Hugging the northern tip of the 13th Fairway is Kaanapali Plantation, a resort town home village next to the residential subdivision Kaanapali Hillside. Of these four condo complexes Masters at Kaanapali Hillside is the only one that does not allow short-term vacation rentals. The Masters is a luxury gated condominium development following the meandering 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th Fairways with views of the Pacific Ocean and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. South Course at Kaanapali Golf Resort
Kaanapali Kai (South) Course was originally created as an executive course and was later redesigned by architect Arthur Jack Snyder in 1976. At 6,400 yards, the Par 70 course is a more forgiving golf course with subtle, undulating greens that accomodates all levels of play.
Along many holes on the Kaanapali Kai Course lie natural canals, gulches and lava rock boundaries. The course is landscaped with native flowers along the trails like the hibiscus, bougainvillea and plumeria, as well as the Norfolk Pines and coconut trees that border many fairways. These features are part of what makes the course most enjoyable.
There is one condo community bordering the Kaanapali Kai Course and four luxury residential subdivisions overlooking the fairways. The Vintage at Kaanapali condominiums is completely surrounded by the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th Fairways and requires a minimum rental of thirty days. One of Kaanapali's newest residential communities, Lanikeha rests above the 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th Fairways and enjoys year round sunsets. Kaanapali's first residential subdivision created in the 1970's, Kaanapali Vista borders the 4th, 5th, 6th, 14th and 15th Fairways. The course rating is 36.2 and it has a slope rating of 114 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Alex Bell and William McKewan, the Maui golf course opened in 1927. The course plays longer than the yardage due to windy conditions. Only a minutes walk from the course is Baldwin Beach and Baby Beach.

Pukalani Golf Pukalani Country Club

Pukalani's eighteen holes were designed by golf course architect Bob Baldock and they cover nearly 160 acres. Built in 1979, the course is 6,962 yards long from the championship tees, plays to a par 72 and features nineteen greens in its eighteen hole layout.

Wailuku Golf Kahili Golf Course
Formerly The Sandalwood, the Kahili Golf Course was constructed in 1991 and designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright. Uniquely positioned on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains facing Haleakala, each of the 18 holes received a makeover to improve conditions, enhance playability, and add to the magnificent views of the ocean and the mountains the location affords. A popular choice for both visiting and local golfers, Kahili plays host to numerous Maui and State-wide tournaments throughout the year.
Reopened in the fall of 2005, this Central Maui course has been redesigned and has taken advantage of the local terrain at the foothills of the West Maui Mountains and the Hawaiian Maui Tradewinds to give you an experience that you would expect on Maui. All eighteen greens have been resurfaced with TifEagle Bermuda Grass and the bunkers have been reshaped with white sand. There are no residential or condominium communities that border the fairways but visit our page for Wailuku properties that are only a couple minutes away. Kahului Golf Dunes At Maui Lani
The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course was designed by course architect, Robin Nelson, who used the land itself as inspiration for the course’s design. A million years ago, The Dunes was submerged beneath the sea. Most classic links courses in Ireland and Scotland are by the water. But in Hawaii it is a little different because many of the shorelines are of lava. There are few real dunes in the islands.
The hands-down best layout on Maui and one of the best in all Hawaii. Hidden from view from the new clubhouse and lighted driving range are the exquisitely crafted 3rd through 16th Holes, which sensually meander through a unique landscape of hills, dales and substantial sand dunes. Blending a tantalizing mix of water features, sophisticated Scottish-style bunkers and mounding with dynamic tee locations.
